While The Amazing Spider-Man still isn’t due to hit theaters until July 3, 2012, Sony has already set the date for the movie’s sequel.
That’s right, you can already mark your calendars, because The Amazing Spider-Man 2will be released on May 2, 2014.
The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone as they reboot the original franchise that was first made popular in 2002.
By the looks of it, the film’s makers are pretty certain that the movie will be a success when it’s released next summer.
“I think it speaks volumes about our confidence in what we are seeing on the new film and our desire to move quickly on the next installment,” said a spokesperson for Sony.
There’s no news as to what the second film’s plot may be, but we do know that Garfield and Stone will return in their respective roles.
