Selective security check

A woman in the US has complained that she was singled out by airport security for further screening because of her breasts. Eliana Sutherland, who was flying from Orlando International Airport, told her local news station that two male TSA workers had been staring at her chest and singled her out for additional screening. While privacy-invasion claims like Sutherland’s have become increasingly common since the introduction of full body scan, the TSA however stressed that people are chosen for additional screening at random and strictly for security reasons. A weird naked picture of a man reading book has surfaced on Google Street View. The image shows the mystery man sitting on a bench on the veranda of his home with his shorts on placed beside him. In the picture, the man is holding a book in one hand and using the other one to cover his modesty. The picture was captured by one of Google Street View’s camera cars on a suburban road in Saint-Guillaume, Quebec, Canada. It comes just days after a German man was exposed on Google in the boot of a Mercedes convertible – also appearing to be naked.

An Egyptian mummy said to be 1,700 years old has been revealed as a boy dressed in girl’s clothing. The child, who lived around 350AD, was housed at Saffron Walden Museum in Essex, and had been a mystery after he was discovered in a private collection in 1878. Studies last year discovered it was wrapped in clothing adorned in feminine symbols, wearing girl’s breast cones and a female bracelet. Sentence put off

A shoplifter in Britain, who mowed down a policeman in her bid to escape, has been allowed to take a pre-booked seven-week holiday to Australia before she is sentenced. Sapphia Da-Silva was spotted shoplifting at a Gap store and was followed to her car by two police community support officers. Her case had been adjourned for pre-sentence reports, and a sentencing hearing would have likely been held in mid-December. But the mother-of-two’s planned seven-week trip Down Under, on a visa, is from November 28 to January 15, so Ashford magistrates agreed to adjourn the date until January 31.
